Description

The Polaroid 600 "Break Out" Instant Film Camera is a creative collaboration between Retrospekt, Polaroid, and Minneapolis-based artist and designer Evan Weselmann. Each camera is built using original, refurbished internal components from vintage Polaroid cameras of the 1980s and ‘90s. These restored functional parts are housed within a newly molded plastic exterior that showcases Weselmann’s signature vibrant, anthropomorphic, and whimsical cartoon illustrations. To further personalize the experience, each camera includes a custom sticker sheet designed by the artist.

Evan Weselmann is recognized for his highly expressive, imaginative artwork that seamlessly blends dripping vibrancy with playful characters, bringing a fresh, artistic twist to the iconic Polaroid experience.

This is a custom camera built from refurbished vintage Polaroid internals housed in a newly-molded exterior. It is designed and built by Retrospekt in collaboration with Evan Weselmann, and officially licensed by Polaroid.

Utilizing higher-speed 600-type film, this camera features a built-in flash and a fixed-focus lens, offering a versatile and user-friendly instant photography experience suitable for various lighting environments. As Polaroid film is sensitive to light during development, users are advised to shield photos or place them in a dark environment for several minutes immediately after shooting for optimal color saturation.

To guarantee reliable performance, every camera is thoroughly refurbished by hand by the Retrospekt team. The process includes comprehensive cleaning, servicing, and testing of all vintage components to ensure functional longevity.

As this camera utilizes internal parts with decades of history, minor signs of past use may be present internally and may vary slightly from product images. However, the restoration process strictly ensures that the final product is fully functional and performs to established standards.
